This was a great day time show in the incredible and most beautiful Gorge Amphitheatre. The weather was perfect and the venue is absolutely beautiful - do yourself a favour and put catching a show there on your bucket list.
This was my second time seeing JBT and I was pretty excited about it. This show was longer than the one I had caught in Salmon Arm, BC just 2 weeks previous which made me happy. Strangely enough, there were stuffed salmon in the audience flying around and at one point someone throws one on stage. A bit later, John randomly throws it back into the audience and the same guy who threw it catches it again. The band notices and comments and I felt, like my previous JBT recording, that another salmon themed title was born. The performance was excellent and the band's energy was high. I met a LOT of people that hadn't seen JBT before and they truly seemed mesmerized by the band's amazing performance and afterwards told me they had been blown away.
Technical notes: I was lucky enough to be able to set up DFC, FOB but that was quite a hefty distance from the stacks. Due to a tiny missing adaptor screw, I was unable to attach my stereo bar directly to my stand therefore had to use a clamp to attach the stereo bar to my stand. Made no difference in the sound only that the whole thing was top heavy and had to be tethered down. Due to my Busman Audio mics being out of commision, I wasn't able to use my XLR connections as I would have preferred. Thanks to everyone who took the time to thank me for taping. It's hard work and nice to be appreciated.
